Matthew Bradley's sculptural and performative works explore the eternal tension that exists between the individuals perception of the real and the real itself. He employs processes that are akin to those of the archaeologist and the engineer to ‘perform’ the production of artefacts. Bradley’s notion of the artefact is expanded to include objects from the past, present and the future; human and non human ;material and immaterial. For Bradley, artefacts are cosmogonic models that evidence the way things see themselves in relation to the universe, to being and to the real itself.
